Are you also fail to take action?
I’m a student of the game of life. I’ve studied my patterns as well as the patterns of others. I am always looking for ways to improve myself. As I’ve looked at those patterns, I’ve noticed I rely on three EXCUSES for not taking action.
First, I usually think I don’t have all the information. I used to consume information like crazy. I read books and went to seminars because I truly believed I needed more information.
You may be in the same place right now. You may think you need one more insight, one more strategy before you can take action.Your business or marriage may be in trouble because you think you need more information to grow your business or one more strategy to get laid. You sit and wait for someone or something to teach you what you need to do to get where you want to be instead of taking action.
In reality, you don’t need more information; you need more IMPLEMENTATION.
Once I realized I needed more EXPERIENCE so I could implement my strategies, things changed and I finally saw results.
My second go-to excuse for inaction is thinking I don’t have the capacity. I saw the results of this thinking through the effects of skipping out on workouts for years. I didn’t think I had the capacity to train with a trainer. I thought my business was all the training I needed. I didn’t love working out so I didn’t think I had the capacity to do it and see results…not like I did at my work.
After years of neglecting my body, I finally realized I needed to take care of my body
if I wanted to make more money or be a better husband and father. A sick body was going to hold me back, not be the vehicle to propel me to the next level.
Something had to change. My thinking had to stretch beyond what I knew at that moment. Maybe you don’t have the capacity to execute and build your business. You have to stretch yourself and understand your capacity right now isn’t going to last. You have to get the tools to help you execute at full capacity.
The third reason I believe I don’t take action is because I don’t believe shit will work.
If you think things won’t work, you will fail because you don’t believe in the process. You don’t believe you are good enough to execute and you will fail before you even get started.
It all boils down to fear – fear of failure, fear of what others will think. If you are not willing to fail, you won’t play the game to your highest capacity.
It doesn’t matter how many punches you are going to endure, It’s about growth and believing you will make it despite the pain…the fear…the failure. If you don’t believe, this game is not for you.
Look at your life and notice where you are not taking action. Determine which excuse you are leaning on then DECIDE to break the pattern. Make a decision – commit to ACTION and fucking try.
You won’t succeed overnight. Find a way to free yourself from the shackles of those patterns and be willing to fail. Failure leads to learning which leads to growth which leads to success and wisdom.
