There is one certainty in life: we will experience PAIN. I am no stranger to pain.
Emotional and physical pain – I have experienced them both in my life. But the one thing I have learned is that you have a CHOICE. As I turn 40, I have looked back on my life and have observed a pattern.
Every time I have had a painful experience in my life, it was the kick in the ass I needed to discover who the fuck I am. Every time I had pain, I had two choices. I could either shrink and repeat the pattern or learn why it happened.
Instead of blaming myself and others I could CHOOSE to learn from the experience and move forward. Pain is nothing but FEEDBACK. It tells you what you could have done better. It gives you incentive to level up and tells you how you can adapt. I believe pain is the mother of innovation.
PAIN IS THE CATALYST OF CHANGE.
Very few people change when they are satisfied and comfortable. The only way you are going to change is if you feel pain. Pain creates leverage in your life so you can see what you don’t have, what you want and what you can do about it.
If you are going through a painful situation right now, take a moment to determine what you can learn from it. What is life trying to tell you? What pattern continues showing up in your life?
YOU HAVE A CHOICE.
Shrink and repeat the same old pattern or level up and learn. Find out who you are inside and take a step forward. Tell yourself that this is not the end.
It is a new beginning where you can use the pain as a catalyst for change. Don’t hide from the pain. Look it right in the eye and tackle it head on. Move forward. No matter what happens in your life, find certainty that tackling pain will make you a better man.
You will be a better human being having gone through pain. Now I WELCOME pain in my life. I know that every painful experience will teach me something. I’m going to be better, faster – stronger than I was before the pain.
